The CATT
3D-viewer is a small stand-
alone
application (< 120 kB!) that can
be
used for enhanced 3D-viewing of CATT-Acoustic
models as well as customer
presentations.

source
viewpoints allowing for interactive aim and
positioning while viewing through -3, -6 and/or -9 dB contours.
interactive plane sub-division selection
and data readout (plane name, absorption and scattering coeffiicients,
area)
interactive plane list selection for
pasting into CATT-Acoustic
plane selection (Free from edit dialogs, e.g. for
selection of Audience planes).
on/off
selection of all elements: surfaces, edges,
source-items (id, coord system, aim, box), receiver-items (id,
coord-system
head direction, sphere), lamps, coordinate system, palette, viewpoints
elements
can be individually colored
the
viewer requires OpenGL 1.1
to be installed on your system (preinstalled on all Windows
versions
except 95 OSR1 but can then be downloaded for free from http://www.opengl.org).
An advantage with OpenGL 3D graphics is that it will
automatically
make use of hardware 3D support if the card installed supports OpenGL.
Note that many cheap 3D cards for games may only support Direct3D
and not an Installable Client Driver (ICD) for OpenGL. However,
also without hardware acceleration the generic OpenGL 1.1
renderer
is very fast and for normal use of the CATT 3D-Viewer no
acceleration
is necessary.
Note: for
anyone that needs to view CATT
OGL- (and PLT-) -files without a CATT-Acoustic
license or demo the standalone
viewers can be downloaded.
